The fascinating Voynich manuscript <\/a>has been described as the most mysterious manuscript in the world \ud604\uc7ac \ubcf4\uc548\uc124\uc815 \ub54c\ubb38\uc5d0 \ub2e4\uc6b4\ub85c\ub4dc<\/a>. The vellum on which it is written has been carbon dated to the 15th century. Unfortunately, since it was rediscovered in 1912 not a single word of it has been deciphered.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Ren\u00c3\u00a9 Zandbergen’s comprehensive website<\/a> gives a lot of excellent historical and other information about it \uc655\uc88c\uc758 \uac8c\uc784 \uc2dc\uc98c6 \ub2e4\uc6b4\ub85c\ub4dc<\/a>.<\/p>\n

My research into the Voynich manuscript looks particularly at the script and language, and as a result of my research I propose a decoding of around <\/strong><\/span>ten<\/em> of the words and some <\/span>fourteen<\/em><\/strong> of the signs and clusters<\/strong> Jayquart ui<\/a>. I suggest that these are the first signs and words to be successfully decoded, but of course the results are\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>partial<\/em> and <\/span>provisional.\u00c2\u00a0<\/em>I hope that other analysts will now be able to comment and perhaps build on the results published here.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In my approach I used a systematic \u00c2\u00a0process of focussing on possible proper names<\/em> in the text, in the way which was been successfully used before in the decipherment of Egyptian hieroglyphs and the Cretan Linear B scripts oracle database \ub2e4\uc6b4\ub85c\ub4dc<\/a>.<\/p>\n
